MCA (Microcrystalline Ceramic Alumina)

Sintered Aluminium Oxide

MCA (Microcrystalline Ceramic Alumina), also known as sintered alumina oxide, is a new generation of alumina ceramic abrasive independently developed by Hunan Hengyuan Precision Ceramics. This product adopts proprietary extrusion molding and high-temperature sintering technologies to form an ultra-fine alumina crystal structure with grain sizes of only 1-2 microns.

Compared with traditional alumina abrasives, MCA has three core advantages:

  1. More uniform microcrystalline structure: Nanoscale grain boundary control technology achieves uniform lattice distribution
  2. Higher density: Microhardness reaches 1800-2000GPa
  3. Superior mechanical properties: Compressive strength increased by 40%, making it particularly suitable for heavy-duty grinding conditions with deep cuts (≤2mm), high feed rates (≥3m/min), and extreme pressure (>50N/mm²)

Currently,The product is widely used in high-end applications such as grinding wheels, cutting discs, and angle grinding discs. It demonstrates exceptional performance in precision grinding processes for aerospace alloys and super-hard cutting tools, achieving a grinding ratio (G-ratio) that is more than five times higher than conventional white fused alumina.

Workingprinciple

There are a lot of crystal lattice in MCA due to its’ microcrystalline structure inside. The crystal lattice can spread the impact on abrasive material under the high speed and heave load working condition to avoid the abrasive material falling off from grinding tool in big pieces which can extend the llfe-cycle of grinding tool. The cutting edgeon grinding tool is constantly produced during the grinding process due to theabrasive material fall off in microcrystaline structure which will keep the grinding tool always in sharp status. The good sharp status grinding tool of can lower the grinding heat which can reduce the burning fallureand resin carbonization on the product.
